Vacation, all we ever wanted!
This week we go international with the MCU as we discuss Spider-Man: Far From Home. First, we give our spoiler-free reactions to the movie. Then we dive into spoiler territory as we discuss this movie and the fallout of Endgame. Is it the snap or the blip? Are there multiple universes? Does Mike really have the audacity to call into question the legacy of Tony Stark? We then move back to the movie proper and discuss what we liked and Peter's predilection for chocolate (Enjoli's note: caramel). Finally, we talk about the two end-credit scenes and make predictions for the MCU going forward in light of this new info.

You can't save everyone. But we can save ourselves after we decided to not talk about a bad movie and talk about a great one instead. This episode, we're talking about Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse which just came out on Netflix. We discuss many different aspects of this movie. Did we really need another Spider-man movie (spoiler alert: Yes)? How does the world building of Into the Spider-Verse compare to Black Panther? Which character relationships is Mike going to fixate on this week? How amazing is the animation in this movie?

We just couldn't control it. We discuss the next X-Men movie, The Dark Phoenix. We start with our spoiler free impressions, then jump into spoiler territory with what we liked and what we didn't like. Did Simon Kinberg redeem himself in his second attempt at adapting the Dark Phoenix Saga? Is Charles a privileged white dude? Is Magneto mediocre? Are men the worst? All those questions and more are answered.
Then we discuss X-Men as a whole and how it relates to the Civil Rights movement in America. How does the allegory hold up under basic scrutiny? What does the X-Men really accomplish as it relates to social justice?

We talk about the new Netflix time travel movie See You Yesterday. This is a distinctly Black science fiction movie from director and co-writer Stefon Bristol, co-writer Fredrica Bailey, and producer Spike Lee.
We discuss the movie, what we liked, and our opinions on several polarizing elements of the film. We examine what it means to be a Black time travel movie: What elements transform this from a movie about time travel with Black characters to a Black time travel movie? We also attempt to place the film in conversation with other time travel movies, recent discussions on Afrofuturism, and portrayals of police brutality in media.
We discuss our reactions to the series finale, talk about the many criticisms leveled against the show, and share the elements of the show that we enjoy. Finally, we discuss what we think the legacy of the show will be.
Sup, nerds! Check out this brief introduction to our podcast! We share our individual "origin stories," identifying key sources of our love for nerd culture and media. We also talk about our plans for the show and how you can connect with us.
Hear me, and rejoice! You are about to listen to the inaugural episode of the Nerd vs Nerd podcast! In this episode, we discuss all things Avengers: Endgame with equal parts fan service and sass. Where does Endgame rank within the MCU? How do we feel about the story arcs of our beloved heroes? Is Nat's sacrifice a case of "fridging" or female empowerment? Is America ready for a Black Captain? What's next for the Marvel Cinematic Multi-Verse?!
